About us

We chose the name Nanteos because it refers to the Welsh legend of a cup which bestows health on those who drink from it. Our founder was born and bred in Wales and this is a nod to our heritage, and our mission. 

Our mission

Our mission is to improve health and health care for patients through better clinical decision making. We believe in using technology to support clinicians in their consultations. From the humble stethoscope to the mammoth British National Formulary, innovations have been helping clinicians to deliver better care for decades. Ours is the next step in the journey in the digital world. 

Our work

We endeavour to be as transparent about our work as we can. We have published the research conducted on our application(s) and will continue to do so

We believe that publishing our work as widely as possible gives clinicians confidence in our work and our products

We published our methodology in the Journal of Medical Internet Research: A Bayesian Network decision support tool for low back pain: proposal and pilot

Our validation study was published in JMIR Formative Research: Assessing serious spinal pathology using Bayesian Network Decision Support

We conducted a study with clinicians on our prototype app, and published the results in the International Journal of Medical Informatics: "It's the future, c'mon!" A think-aloud study exploring clinicians' use of knowledge based AI decision support
